A sleeker Casamates, from the ground up
New UI and keyboard, a livelier shopping list, quick QR code scanning, a new theme toggle, and fixes to keep your expenses on track.
We've spent the last few weeks giving Casamates a proper glow-up, and it ships today. Nothing about how the app works has changed: bills, chores, shopping lists and your shared calendar are all exactly where you left them. What's changed is how much nicer everything feels to use.
The whole interface has been redrawn: cleaner navigation, clearer typography, and a bit more breathing room around the numbers that matter most, like who owes what. We also shipped a custom in-app keyboard for logging expenses, so adding a shared cost is now a couple of taps instead of a fight with your phone's default number pad.
The shopping list got the biggest glow-up of all. Items now animate in and out as your flatmates add or check things off, so it actually feels alive when everyone's topping up the list at once instead of a static page you have to refresh.
Adding a new flatmate to the household is now as simple as scanning a QR code from their phone: no more typing out invite codes by hand. And if you've been asking for a dark theme, it's finally here: flip the toggle in Settings and the whole app switches over.
Alongside all that, we fixed a handful of bugs affecting expense syncing and notifications that a few of you flagged in the last release. As always, we read every bit of feedback, so keep it coming.
