Code of Conduct
These rules help keep Casamates households safe, respectful, and useful for everyone.
1. Scope
This Code of Conduct applies whenever you use the Casamates mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service"). It forms part of our Terms of Use. You are responsible for your conduct, your User Content, and activity carried out through your account.
2. Treat People with Respect
You must not use Casamates to:
- harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or shame anyone;
- promote hatred or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or another protected characteristic;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
- publish another person's private or confidential information without their authority; or
- send spam, scams, deceptive requests, or unwanted promotions.
3. Protect Children and Vulnerable People
Casamates has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation. You must not create, upload, request, possess, distribute, link to, or encourage child sexual abuse material; groom or sexually exploit a minor; solicit sexual or identifying information from a minor; or use the Service to endanger a child or vulnerable person.
Only a parent, legal guardian, or other legally authorised adult may create or manage a Managed Account. Do not attempt to bypass guardian, age, privacy, or safety controls. We may report suspected child exploitation or an imminent safety risk to the appropriate authorities and preserve relevant information as permitted or required by law.
4. Keep Content Lawful and Appropriate
You must not upload, share, or use content that:
- is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawfully threatening;
- contains sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, or credible threats of violence;
- infringes copyright, privacy, or another person's rights;
- contains malware or is designed to compromise the Service; or
- facilitates unlawful activity or creates a serious risk of harm.
You must have the necessary rights and permissions for profile pictures and other content you add. Household content is private to the relevant household by design, but you should only add information that you are authorised to share with its members.
5. Use Household and Expense Features Honestly
Do not create false debts, manipulate balances, misrepresent payments, access another person's account, or use household features to deceive, coerce, or financially exploit someone. Casamates records information supplied by household members; it is not a payment service, debt collector, or substitute for professional financial or legal advice.
6. Protect Accounts and the Service
You must not:
- share credentials with an unauthorised person;
- access an account, household, or data without permission;
- interfere with the Service, evade security controls, introduce malicious code, or test vulnerabilities without written permission;
- scrape, automate access to, reverse engineer, or copy the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use Casamates to violate any applicable law or regulation.
7. Reporting, Blocking, and Household Controls
Report suspected violations, unsafe conduct, or unlawful content to support@casa-mates.com. Include enough information for us to identify the account, household, or content, but do not send unlawful imagery or unnecessary sensitive information by email.
Where available, use in-app reporting, blocking, member-removal, or leave-household controls. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Casamates is not an emergency monitoring or response service. Our Safety Centre explains our reporting, complaints, and appeals process in more detail.
8. Review and Enforcement
We may review reports and relevant content, request information, preserve evidence, warn users, restrict features, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, or contact authorities where reasonably necessary to enforce this Code, protect users, or comply with law. We consider the nature, severity, context, and history of a violation when deciding what action is proportionate. Serious conduct may result in immediate suspension or termination.
If you believe we acted in error, contact us at the address below and explain why. We will review reasonable appeals, although we may keep safeguards in place while a safety or legal risk remains.
9. Contact and Updates
