Product updateMay 2026

New look, same easy flatmate life

We shipped a refreshed look across the app, focused on usability, with the same simple bill-splitting and chore tracking you already know.

This release is a quieter one: we spent it polishing rather than adding. Every screen in Casamates got a pass focused purely on usability: better spacing, clearer buttons, and small layout tweaks that make the app easier to use one-handed while you're juggling groceries.

Bill splitting and chore tracking work exactly the way they did before. We're not interested in moving things around just to make the app feel different; we'd rather make the parts you already rely on a little smoother every time we touch them.

A few specific changes: balances are easier to scan at a glance, the chore list groups recurring tasks more clearly, and buttons that used to feel a little cramped on smaller phones now have proper tap targets.

If you've been using Casamates for a while, this update should feel completely familiar, just a bit nicer to look at and a bit easier to tap through. That's the goal for most of our releases: refine before we add.
