Casamates opens its doors: welcome to open beta
After months of building the app in our own flatshare, Casamates is now open to everyone. Free to use while we polish things up, with your feedback shaping what comes next.
Casamates started the way most good ideas about shared living do: out of frustration. The three of us were flatmates, tired of the same arguments every household has: who owes what, whose turn it is to clean, who forgot the milk again. Spreadsheets, group chats and sticky notes on the fridge all fell apart within a week.
So we built the app we wished we had. Today, after months of building and testing it in our own kitchen, Casamates is open to everyone in public beta.
The app covers the essentials of shared living in one place: splitting bills fairly, assigning and tracking chores, keeping shared and private shopping lists, and a household calendar that shows chores, events and payments on one timeline. There's also a flatmate rating system, so you can build a reputation for being easy to live with, or check someone else's before you move in together.
Casamates is completely free. We're still the app's most demanding users, and every feature we ship is one that solved a real argument in our own flatshare first. If something's missing or broken, tell us; your feedback is what decides what we build next.
