The short answer
FamilyWall is a family organiser, built for parents and children. Casamates is built for adults who share a home. The biggest difference is money: FamilyWall’s budget tracker is a Premium feature for tracking family spending, not for splitting costs between people. Casamates lets you split bills, see who owes whom and settle up, free and unlimited. Casamates also has a proper chores feature with recurring chores and reminders, where FamilyWall relies on assigning to-dos.

Questions people ask
Is there a FamilyWall alternative for flatmates?
Yes. Casamates is built for people who share a home rather than for families. It has a shared calendar and shopping lists, plus what flatmates need most: splitting bills, tracking who owes whom, settling up and recurring chores, all free with no ads.
Can FamilyWall split bills?
FamilyWall’s Premium plan includes a budget tracker for recording family spending by category. It isn’t built to split a bill between people or show who owes whom. Casamates does both on its free plan.
Is FamilyWall free?
FamilyWall has a free plan with a shared calendar and lists, and 100 MB of storage for the whole family. The budget tracker, Google and Outlook calendar sync and extra storage need FamilyWall Premium, at £39.99 or $44.99 a year.
Does FamilyWall have a chore chart?
Not as a separate feature. You can assign to-dos to family members with due dates and reminders. Casamates has a dedicated chores feature with recurring chores, reminders and chores shown on the household calendar.
Are FamilyWall and Cozi the same company?
They are separate apps with the same owner: both belong to In Tandem, the parent company of the co-parenting app OurFamilyWizard. Both are built for families, and neither splits bills between flatmates.
